I offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy/psychoanalysis. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, a general sense of malaise, relationship problems, identity issues, or a moment of change or a crisis that you want to address, this open-ended form of treatment provides a non-judgemental space in which you speak as openly as possible about your difficulties, fear, and desires.
Together we try to help you identify and articulate, in your own words, what is going on for you. We listen to whatever material you bring, whether it’s a current problem, memories from the past, or dreams. Through careful attention to your singular experience, and to unconscious material, we can disentangle what is causing symptoms and deadlocks, and help you feel more alive.
I work with patients once- or twice weekly, in sessions of 50 minutes. The work is generally open-ended, and in-person, although we can discuss a combination of in-person and online/telephone sessions if need be. I practice in North London (in N7 or N4, near Holloway Road and Finsbury Park tubes respectively).
In the initial session, we will discuss fees in order to agree on something that is meaningful but sustainable. I offer a limited number of reduced-fee places for those on low incomes. Missed sessions (ones canceled less than 24 hours in advance) are due in full.
If you would like to discuss starting therapy, please contact me, and we will arrange a time for an initial conversation (free of charge).
I abide by the Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis’s code of ethics and conduct and my practice is also informed by the UKCP’s Code of Ethics and Professional Practice
